ABOUT

Poppy Camden is a Scottish designer specialising in costume and working across theatre, TV and film. As well as working on collaborative projects and productions Poppy is currently exploring a series of personal projects to be shared later this year.

How does it make you feel? What does that look like? How would you wear that?

These 3 simple questions form the starting point for every project, offering a path into a concept and a way of visualising the themes of social commentary that arise within her personal work. This process also applies to her work as a costume designer, approaching character development with an avid and endless curiosity. Whether designing for a solo project or for a production Poppy considers it all as visual storytelling with the aim to create work which challenges, confronts and engages with an audience as this to her is the joy of designing for live performance.

Since graduating from The Glasgow School of Art in 2018 Poppy works as a freelance designer, maker and wardrobe assistant across the UK and is currently wardrobe assistant on the UK and Ireland tour of Dreamgirls the Musical . For collaborations, opportunities or to request a CV please get in touch via e-mail.
